How to Set Up IPTV on Plex, Jellyfin & Stremio

If you already run a media server, you can fold live IPTV channels into the same interface rather than switching apps. Plex and Jellyfin both support live TV from an M3U playlist with XMLTV guide data. It is more setup than a dedicated player, and worth it only if you are already invested in the ecosystem.

Setting up Plex, Jellyfin & Stremio, step by step

1. Open your server's Live TV settings — In Plex: Settings → Live TV & DVR → Set up Plex Tuner. In Jellyfin: Dashboard → Live TV → Tuner Devices → Add → M3U Tuner.
2. Add your M3U URL as a tuner — Paste the full M3U link we sent you. The server treats it as a virtual tuner and scans the channels.
3. Add the XMLTV guide source — Add the EPG URL from your welcome message as a guide provider, then map channels to guide entries. Plex does much of this automatically; Jellyfin needs more manual work.
4. Trim the channel list before scanning — Twenty thousand channels will overwhelm both servers. Use a filtered playlist with only the groups you want — ask us and we will generate one.
